Simphiwe Zakwe has demonstrated visionary leadership by founding Sankofa Solutions to address critical environmental challenges in communities. Simphiwe has actively engaged the youth through programs like inter-school climate change challenges, providing them with educational tools and opportunities for empowerment and successfully formed partnerships and collaborations with government departments, educational institutions, and industry bodies, enhancing the reach and impact of Sankofa Solutions.Simphiwe's leadership promotes inclusivity and community ownership, fostering a sense of responsibility and active participation among residents.

Simphiwe's Work

  • 1. Inter-schools climate change challenge Alex edition 2023 - using VR Edutech tools in lower quintile schools to ensure SDG4

    2. Green Youth Day Celebration - In partnership with Skills Panda and Nedbank 100 youth in Alex were selected for a gig-job, to clean and plant trees within the community of Alex.

    3. Exhibitor at the SASOL Techno X - showcased our VR simulated scenes on climate change & pollution and proper waste handling solutions to over 1500 scholars and attendees who were present during the week long program.

    4. VR Scene creation - through partnership with Ulink ClassVR, 30 pupils from schools in Alex were taught how to code their own simulated climate change scenes using CoSpace.

    5. Imvelisi Circular Economy Hackathon 3rd Place Winner.
