ABOUT NONHLANHLA ZWANE

Nonhlanhla Zwane is a software developer, cloud enthusiast, cybersecurity graduate, and the founder of a youth-led empowerment initiative. But more than anything, I am a small-town girl who dared to dream bigger than my circumstances. Her journey into tech started with curiosity. She didn't grow up surrounded by computers or coding, but has always loved solving problems and building things that matter.

That curiosity led her to pursue a BSc in Computer Science, which became the foundation of a career she is deeply passionate about. I've since grown into a full-stack software engineer, completed global programs like SheCodes and AWS Cloud Women Mentorship, earned her an Alibaba Cloud certification, and now work as a Cybersecurity Analyst Graduate while pursuing her Honours in Big Data Analytics at Wits. Beyond the technical milestones, she is driven by purpose.

She spends her time mentoring and tutoring young women from my village because I know how life-changing it is to see someone who looks like you succeed in spaces you once thought weren't meant for you. That's why she started empowerED Cohort, an initiative focused on empowering youth through education, skills development, and tech exposure especially young women stepping into male-dominated fields like mine. Nonhlanhla believes that with the right people like Geekulcha and enough donations, the whole idea will fall into place.I'm proof that with the right guidance, courage, and community, you can build a life far beyond what you imagined. And now, she is committed to using her story and skills to open doors for others, just like someone once did for me.
