Michael Uwakwe

Michael Uwakwe, is a passionate designer and developer dedicated to creating digital solutions that tackle real-world problems. I studied Software Engineering with Professional Experience at the University of Salford in the UK, where I deepened my understanding of technology; something he has been drawn to since he was just five years old.Over the years, he has poured his energy into digital innovation, particularly in AI automation, software development, and product design. His journey hasn't been without its challenges, but those experiences shaped me, building a stronger mindset and helping him grow both personally and professionally.

While studying in the UK, he noticed gaps that affected many international students like himself. That realization helped refine my vision and inspired a mission to improve digital technologies, not just locally but on a global scale. He had the opportunity to work with startups, established firms, and as a freelancer; each experience teaching me something new. Adapting to various work environments wasn't always easy, but it was necessary. 

Those roles pushed him to think not only like a developer but also like a customer and a business owner. Ge began to understand how companies evolve and what it takes to help them thrive. With that insight, he took a leap and started building my own ventures. One of them is Unilink, an EdTech startup focused on fostering unity, meaningful connections, and empowerment. Starting a business came with its fair share of hurdles, but rather than dwell on them, he chose to build solutions. 

Michael has also contributed in blog writings, open source projects both GitHub and Figma, which has gained up to 1.8M users on Figma designs for the community. Above all, he strongly believes that digital technology in Africa is due for a transformation; one that holds incredible potential for the future. "I'm here to be part of that shift".
