ABOUT JADEAN WRIGHT

Jadean is driven by the belief that technology can create a more equitable and just world, and hopes to inspire others to joinher on this mission. She drives significant impact in society by empowering individuals and communities through innovation, technology, and social justice initiatives.

An innovator, activist, and feminist committed to using technology to create positive change in South Africa and beyond. From advancing STEM education to developing inclusive tech solutions, my passion lies in **bridging the gap between social justice and innovation** to empower marginalized communities.

 Her journey includes

From No Experience to First Place When she first stepped into the world of innovation, she had no prior knowledge of the field. The technical aspects, the problem-solving, the coding it was all new to me but despite that, she took the leap with her team,  believing that determination and creativity could pave the way. That bold first step landed them 1st place at the KZNInnov Tech Makerthon: a defining moment that proved innovation is about mindset, not just expertise. Since then, I've dedicated myself to learning, refining her skills, and using technology to drive meaningful change. Her Passion for Activism and Innovation Beyond technology, she has been deeply committed to social justice and gender equality. As a FLAC Alumni with Soul City, she actively works to amplify underrepresented voices and push for greater equity and inclusion. Her advocacy is rooted in the belief that technology should be accessible to everyone, breaking down barriers rather than reinforcing them.

Education and Technical Expertise: have pursued  formal qualifications to strengthen her expertise in electronics, leadership, and emerging technologies, including: N4 in Basic ElectronicsN4 in Leadership and DevelopmentCurrently completing my Diploma in Human Resources. Currently completing her NQF Level 4 in Internet of Things (IoT)Each step in her education has broadened my technical capabilities, allowing me to integrate advanced security, automation, and digital transformation strategies into her projects.

Harnessing Technology for Social Impact

As a managing member and Public Relations Officer of the SMG Makers Club, founded by AlgoAtWork Robotics Academy, I help advance STEM education and inspire young minds to embrace creativity, problem-solving, and tech-driven solutions.

She believes that technology should be a catalyst for empowerment, not exclusion. Her work combines innovation, activism, and education to build a future where everyone regardless of background has the opportunity to thrive.
