Imdadullah Adam is employed as a Project Engineer at the Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing based at the Central University of Technology, Free State in Bloemfontein, where he is responsible for the metal 3D printing unit. Hailing from the nearby city of Kimberley, Imdadullah completed an M.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 at the CUT and is currently pursuing a D.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering at the CUT.
He is quite passionate about his job where he hopes to make a difference in people’s lives by improving their quality of life through the production 3d printed Titanium implants and other medical devices. Considering the nature of his work, there is always an influx of interesting projects some of which are prototypes for multiple industries.
Outside of work, Imdadullah is passionate about Powerlifting and competes at national level, where he currently holds the South African deadlift record in his weightclass. Being an engineer, Imdadullah has a keen interest in the automotive industry and has penned some articles for a motoring blog. What makes Imdadullah is his “never give up” attitude towards any challenge he may face and he hopes to impart this to his fellow colleagues and peers.
