TADHack Global is a hackathon that helps people learn about the latest Internet, IT, and Telecoms technologies; and use those technologies to solve problems that matter. In 2021 Geekulcha and By Design Africa delivered TADHack South Africa (partnered by MTN), with live sessions broadcast from the MTN Studios in Johannesburg. 

2021's theme was “Emerging from the Pandemic – Collaboration and Monetisation towards the 4IR” and the teams made use of tools and API's from global and local sponsors including Ayoba, IBM, TCS, Contactable, CSGi, Huawei and Globetom. The winning team, Maftuha, created a single secure application for education using facial recognition, image processing, identification and sentiment analysis, and pocketed the prize of $1000 USD and entry in the global TADHack competition.
