In August 2020, as part of Women's Month in South Africa, Geekulcha took part in a panel discussion on 'Shifting Social Norms and Beliefs about Gender-Based Violence' with Deputy Minister Thembi Siweya (Presidency) and Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana (DCDT). The panel also announced an interactive platform developed by Govchat to help fight GBV which was officially launched in March 2021, to coincide with International Women's Day. Geekulcha formed part of the stakeholder group which offered input into the ideation and development process.
