GIZ Eastern Cape Local Hackathon

Faciliated by Geekulcha - ASPIRE (Amathole District Municipality), SALGA and GIZ hosted a virtual hackathon in the Eastern Cape on 7 - 8 December 2020 to help strengthen the digital interface between municipalities and their citizens. With a theme 'Finding Smart and Interactive Digital Solutions for Local Government'.
Young people in the Eastern Cape with skills in software development, design, engineering, technology and/or knowledge of local government and public administration were invited to take part in the hackathon and ideate solutions around the scenario “Building a municipal platform for youth involvement – From IDP planning to voicing concerns”.
